Working with Institutions

Pragati Abhiyan has consistently engaged with the governments across all levels—from the Gram Panchayat to the State and Centre. Our work spans interactions with local elected members, block-level officials (like the PS, BDO, APO, and NREGA teams), and district-level authorities such as the Deputy Collector (EGS) and Zilla Parishad officials.

Beyond implementation, we have also supported capacity-building efforts, such as training elected representatives on governance and rural development. At the state level, we’ve worked closely with the NREGA Commissioner’s Office, Rural Development Department, EGS Minister and Secretary, contributing insights from the ground. Nationally, we were part of the Working Group constituted by NITI Aayog to develop new guidelines for NREGA.

Our engagement has covered a wide spectrum, whether it’s a village demand not being registered, or policy-level recommendations. These experiences have reinforced our belief that change is possible through dialogue, persistence, and long-term partnerships with the government. While the road is not always smooth, it is worth walking - step by step, system by system.
